Spoiling Star Wars: The Mandalorian Chapter 11

November 21, 2020/Spoiling Star Wars

The Hersey brothers discuss the second season of the Disney+ hit series The Mandalorian once more!

In this episode, they discuss the sorry state of the Razor Crest (which sidelines into a weird discussion of Post-Empire economics in the Star Wars universe).  They share thoughts and wild speculation about Mando’s newfound friends as well.

WARNING:  In case the episode title was not self-explanatory: this show contains spoilers for the Mandalorian.  If you have not yet watched it, listen to this later!

Chapter 11 of The Mandalorian has some characters that were new to Eric, familiar to Todd, and known by many animated series fan-boys. Eric and Todd were not 100% up to snuff with Bo-Katan, so what other Star Wars projects are they lagging behind?

The Clone Wars

The first animated series from Lucasfilm started in 2008 and finished up in 2014. That was until it relaunched on Disney+ in 2020. This series follows along Obi Wan and Anakin right after episode 2. There was an animated movie, which Eric and Todd actually saw in the theatre (together).

Currently there are over 130 episodes. You could probably hammer out the entire series in 2 days if you decide not to sleep or take breaks.

Droids

Did you know that there was a Droid cartoon in 1985? If you wanted to know what C-3PO and R2-D2 were up to between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, you have one whole season to find out.

There are a total of 14 episodes and you can binge in a weekend.

Rebels

When the animated Clone Wars ended in 2014, Rebels came in to take its place. Much like Droids, this series takes place between Episode III and IV. The show was nominated for 4 Emmys and a big hit with Star Wars fans.

There are a total of 76 episodes from 2014 to 2018.

Resistance

If you like the modern Skywalker saga, this is your series. Guess what? When Rebels ended, Resistance started. LucasFilm animation doesn’t like to leave us with nothing. Occasionally you will see some of your favorite movie characters, but mostly are introduced to new members of the Resistance.

The series finished up in 2020 and has a total of 40 episodes.

Forces of Destiny

If you want 36 episodes at 3 minutes a piece, you got it. Forces of Destiny showcases the female characters in all three sagas. This online series was released in 2017 and lasted one year.

This was released on YouTube. I imagine they are still there.
